On Wednesday, September 14 I drove limo for a funeral at The
Church of the Incarnation (Episcopal) in Dallas, Texas. I noticed prominent
banners publicizing their fall sermons and Bible studies on the Old Testament.
Each banner had a thought provoking question that seemed to me to go well
beyond an Old Testament survey to probe deeply into human reality and faith. I
am considering composing my own answers to these questions, not as an Old Testament
overview, but an exercise in my own spiritual formation. I encourage you to
ponder these questions and even share your responses.
I am not a member of this congregation or any Episcopal church, but a pastor retired from the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) whose ecclesiastical journey has ranged widely. However, in appreciation and out of fairness to The Church of the Incarnation, I want to let you know you can learn more of their take on this at https://incarnation.org/walking-through-the-old-testament/.
